Honesty

Honesty can get you to a lot of places.

Some of them not so good.

Seriously, how many people lie on their resumes ? I don't. I'm not proud of it. I can't think of one thing to twist and fabricate and invent euphemisms for.

A friend asked me today, if you found a gold ornament on the ground, what would you do ? Pat came the answer, I'd keep it; obviously. Then she asks me, what if you found it in the office. I'd keep it, obviously !!!

Mum n dad raised me well, so where the heck did that answer come from ?

So many times i lie to people when I don't want to answer the phone, I insist i was asleep, or the phone was on silent, when all I was doing was reading, or surfing the net, or watching Ugly Betty, or listening to my favourite song and i just didn't want to spoil the moment.

Small, white lies. Big, nasty horrible lies. Past one year I didn't lie much. I just avoided people !

How far can honesty get you? I believe that a lie or a series of lies can get you only so far, after that you'd better go in for plastic surgery, liposuction and an " Art of living" course.

ohhh!!! so that's what the "phone was on silent" meant...i'm so heartbroken :'(

on the plus side, you claim to have lied less this year. that's heartening :D

anyway...to answer your question, i haven't lied today. *she who must not be named* hasn't tried calling me yet, that's why ;)

Havent lied to you. Just cut the call. I was talking mostly about the office or my wonderful relatives. Never cut dad's call either, or always call back. I was raised well you know :P

I follow two diets, one just isnt enough.

From the past 6 months or so, I resolved I needed to lose about 30 kilos, the healthiest and fastest way I could. In December 2007, I weighed all of a very flabby, miserable and roly poly 84 kilos. Involuntary Bliss

Life is full of surprises, twists, turns, exclamation marks, and now I want a full stop. Antagonism, fortitude, gossip, appearances, patience, perseverance, apathy, I hate all of it. I want to be cosseted, shielded, loved, admired, and adored. Silly isn’t it. I want what I don’t want. Yet, somehow, it would make so much more sense to fit in, adhere, conform and accept. Cheese, anyone ?

The other day,while chatting with a friend, i came up with one of my inevitable wisecracks. We were just discussing this Damocles sword hanging over my head, in the form of the CFA Level 1 ...and how I really needed help and prayers. I asked him to pray for me, apparently since God nowadays listens to sinners. He replied, "But I thought God helped those who helps themselves." I said, " Oh, no God is changing.
