Walk a mile
She walked a mile in his shoes
He walked along with her
What they found none divulged
But only time would tell.
Se asked him for a little loaf
He gave her bread aplenty
They broke bread together often; yet
She always went hungry.
He wanted more, he always did
She yearned for quiet and peace,
They justified the distance when
Their opinions never did meet.
They thought alike, friends together
Each other's sole companions
The years went by and still they met
With knowledge incomplete.
He asked her for a little book,
A little love, a little pen.
She gave him all that and more;
Two friends who shared their shoes.
He walked along with her
What they found none divulged
But only time would tell.
Se asked him for a little loaf
He gave her bread aplenty
They broke bread together often; yet
She always went hungry.
He wanted more, he always did
She yearned for quiet and peace,
They justified the distance when
Their opinions never did meet.
They thought alike, friends together
Each other's sole companions
The years went by and still they met
With knowledge incomplete.
He asked her for a little book,
A little love, a little pen.
She gave him all that and more;
Two friends who shared their shoes.

He did give her all the bread, more than she needed, She gave him all what he asked for and more! and yet the difference of opinion with all its might existed.
Some relations are ironic in this way, because 'he want more'. But then Atleast they have a justified reason.. atleast they share the shoes.
loved the poem.
very thoughtful.
nice!!!
I updated the darn blog. :D

I love these lines... I probably reading too much into it..But you know how I can see it in my situation right? She asks for something and gets it yet that aint enough..There is still something missing..Which I think she herself doesn't know...
They justified the distance when
Their opinions never did meet.
Just what can I say about these lines...You know what I must have been thinking, right?
This has now put me into an introspective mood :x
Loved it!

@ Ranjeet- Thanks :)
@ Rash- I know exactly what you were thinking, and this poem was written with experience, and no, it was not between lovers but Friends. Dont relate to it, it will only bring sorrow really. Besides, i bet your shoe sizes are different :D
@ Kaushal- Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it :)
